Personal Narrative

The narrative I am writing right now is called, "The Four-Mile Condo Run". It is about a hard workout at cross country boot camp this summer. In this narrative I am trying to capture what the day was like and how we felt during the miserable run. I picked this story because I felt like I could tell it well, have good details, and I could give it some significance.
When I started writing this paper though, I felt like I didn't do a good job describing with vivid details. I felt like the story was there, but that it was to bland and boring. As I got farther I realized that the details weren't that bad, but it was the significance that I needed to work on. Instead of straight out saying the significance, I needed to tie it into my story. The hard part for me was that I could find more significance from the trip as a whole than that one specific run. So the biggest challenge so far, is finding a way to tie the significance to that run. This essay was very unique but challenging at the same time.

  1. Your narrative sounds interesting. I also feel like I didn't do a good job describing vivid detail in my narrative.
