My Summer

This summer was different then the ones in my past. So many things happened this summer. One of the major things was that it was the summer before I started a new school and high school. To prepare for this year I had to do a lot of running since I joined the cross country team. The best part was that I got to go on the annual cross country boot camp in Destin, Florida. We did run a lot, but overall it was a very rewarding and enjoyable trip.
Most of my summer consisted of running with the team, but there were a few other things I did, such as visiting my dad in Shreveport, going to the beach with my family, going on a mission trip, and going to Houston on a fishing expedition with family. While the fishing trip was short, it was certainly adventurous.  The first day we had caught no fish at all, but on the second we caught about 100 fish and kept 13. That trip was a very interesting one. From staying out on the bay all day to the 6 foot water moccasin  next to me, it was completely fun. In addition, my mom remarried, so I gained a stepdad, stepbrother, and stepsister.  My summer was filled with many exciting things, but am I happy that I am now starting high school.

Ranger's Apprentice

Ranger's Appretentice was more then just a action fighting novel. It was a novel with so many different qualities that made it a good book. There was action, suspense, adventure, amusement, and was an easy read.  This book had action from fighting vicious monsters to fighting friends. There was a lot of adventure including climbing up a castle tower to find out what a note said. This book was very well written and was a great read for anyone looking for a short and easy read.
What I liked most about this book was that the story was told well. The title is Ranger's Apprentice and this book showed us exactly that. The author, John Flanagan, showed us what it is was like to live as an apprentice. He also showed us what it was like to live in the Medieval Times which was one of my favorite parts. There were fairs, castles, kings, and much much more. When I got this book I wasn't to sure, but when I finished I was so glad I picked up this amazing book.
